A text that goes deep

I tutor Chemistry, have done for three years. Chemistry is a central science but students often use a great deal of short term memory to cram rules rather than understand. Understanding ideas in quantum levels and how they are arrived at, cannot be expected of the average student. This book is for the deeper going reader, student or general reader. It presents all levels of detail. I have only started reading and making notes.
There are really excellent texts in this subject, which is key to student success in science. This is not necessarily superior to Silberberg's presentation of history of Chemistry or other key areas (I have used Silberberg much longer), but it has other strengths; it is wordy in a good way. Chemistry is not quantitative yet the meaning of the math is quite difficult; inter-molecular is one example. This book goes into depth, a lot of depth and it is not over-illustrated.

Great book

Very clear for most all chapters. I had to teach myself using this book. Helped tremendously, it is an easy read for the most part. Doesn't go over your head!
