Fun to read

I enjoyed this book even though my children are long past the preschool age. I would recommend this book for anyone who
wants insight into the way a young child thinks. I laughed my way through the book because I remember my children at that
age and it seems realistic to me. I wish there would be a sequel to give insight into the minds of teenagers!

Funny, Warm and Wise

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Preschool Wisdom. I especially liked the creative format. Seeing the world through Lori's eyes gave me insight into how differently our toddlers see the world than we do. She's funny, warm and wise. I liked that the book is both educational and entertaining. I learned many great tips about how to handle situations with toddlers in a win-win way, and I sped through the book because I became so involved in Lori's story. Sometimes I laughed out loud while reading it, and over and over again, I was struck by how real it was. I would absolutely recommend this book for any parent or grandparent of a toddler, and it would make a great resource for a moms' discussion group. And even if you aren't a parent, you would enjoy the book just because you'd get to meet Lori.

Preschool Wisdom

I was drawn to Preschool Wisdom first of all by the beautiful cover. Having nine
grandchildren under 8 years I agreed with the cover statement "A must-read". I was
delighted to find that this book was not only educational and informative, but entertaining
and thoughtful. It drew me in and I could relate my little ones to Lori in a way I had never
thought about before. We so often are in such a hurry to get things done, we don't take the
time to look at things from a child's perspective. I strongly recommend this book. This would
make a great Book Club book for a group of Moms or Grandmothers.

I want my cd/dvd :-(

I really wanted to hate this title because no cd/dvd you have to access the information online. You can download it to your computer though so you do not have to keep going back. Well on to the material honestly if you own a lot of blues material already you may pick up a trick or two from Kirk Fletcher but pretty standard fare with his take on the subject. It was nice seeing him actually demonstrate all the material the only real reason I give it 4 stars is the online material is not marked and the first few times through and there is no way to know except through your ears and watching where he is playing at in the examples which for a beginner may be a little bit confusing otherwise a nice edition to the blues guitar collection. I recommend for Kirk Fletcher fans and for folks wanting to jazzy or spice up their blues a bit overall good.

Smoltering -- Not Burning

I, unlike another reviewer, wanted to love this offering. Unfortunately, there isn't enough to love. The lack of a DVD *is* a minus, but if Kirk delivered the goods, all would be forgiven. The huge deficiency of the material is its lack of depth. The video lessons probably average four minutes - not enough for much more than a platitude or two, a lick or phrase, and a comment. I don't remember a complete solo anywhere. It just isn't enough - at least for me.

I like the sections on different blues styles. And I like that Kirk starts with a section devoted to rhythm and them goes to soloing in the second section. I noted that he included a rhythm section on Rock, but didn't follow up with a solo section. A rock solo in a book on blues might not make much sense, but maybe something with a straight-eight feel? Maybe it's just me.

Kirk is unquestionably talented and experienced, and a very nice guy from all indicators. I just wish each section was longer and maybe had 48 bars of examples.

Kaelins book is amazing! You won't regret buying this! I've been a LadyBoss for over three months and I've lost 21 pounds, 10+ inches and gained SO MUCH CONFIDENCE! I went from sleeping all day everyday and being depressed to loving life!

I really like Kaelin, her personality and story. I have found a lot of motivation in this book. It's good to hear from a person who has been through tough struggles.

I like that in the book she kicks you a bit to challenge your beliefs about what your body is capable of. I think it's a bit unrealistic, though, to assume that all of us who start weight lifting will end up with a super tight and sexy bod. Some of us have saggy skin, and I don't think weight lifting will ultimately get me to bat-wing free zone. I know she's been to the heavy side, but I look at before pictures of her and I'm like... man... I still don't think she gets what it's like to have like 2 inch bat-wings. I'm very small now, and I still have the same bat wings. I'd have to build a whole lot of muscle to even begin to tighten that up. So it feels a bit preachy about you CAN achieve your dream body, even if the extra skin hanging off might not make it completely possible. Im sure that sounds like an excuse, but seriously... tight skinned people just don't understand!

I agree with some that it's disappointing that it's a motivational book with a lot of promotion for her program. I admit, after reading it I was tempted to buy. But I changed my mind and have just been eating cleaner and continuing my exercise.

One thing that bugs me is promoting protein bars and sugar substitute. Yucky. I have read a lot of bad things about protein bars. And of course, a lot of bad things about sugar substitute. Foodeducate app compares protein bars to candy bars. A lot of additives, sugar substitute, and unnatural protein. But I digress, and it's only a small part of her bigger picture.

And one other aspect that lowers the stars.. is this bashing of other weight loss programs. I don't know where the information is coming from that says people on weight watchers or other diets always gain it all back. I like this book and the message Kaelin brings to her FB and Snapchat followers, but the approach of bashing others programs based on only your own personal failures with it sounds very salesy.

I will say I found the "find your why" chapter very motivational. And again, besides my own personal critiques and beliefs, this book was motivational.

I've been a lady boss for almost a year now and I can't begin to day how amazing Kaelin is but also her program .. which is weird to say it's even a program it's a life style. She's teaching all of us how to love ourselves! And how to be healthy and still eat what we want .This book is a must read!

About the Author
John Baker is the founder of Celebrate Recovery, a ministry started at Saddleback Church. Over the last twenty-three years, it is estimated that more than 3.5 million people have gone through this Christ-centered recovery program. There are currently 30,000+ churches that have weekly Celebrate Recovery meetings. John and his wife Cheryl have been married over four decades and have served together in Celebrate Recovery since 1991. They have two adult children, Laura and Johnny, and five grandchildren.

An excellent precurser to starting a Celebrate Recovery

I bought this along with the hardcover book with the intent of running a study group for the purpose of garnering potential initial leaders for a full blown celebrate recovery at our church, and it worked beautifully for this goal. It is laid out as a workbook to be written in during 8 small group discussion sessions and so it is best paired with the hardcover book Life's Healing Choices as it assigns homework reading out of that book before each session. John Baker does a wonderful job of laying out the recovery principles based on the beatitudes from the sermon on the mount and driving home their application to any of life's hurts, habits, and hangups. When you get Jesus involved in your recovery, true healing begins. I can also recommend the DVD version of this study that has its own workbook to go along with it. It is the same material in a different format which may work better for some groups/circumstances.

Life Healing Choices is worth every cent. Praise the Lord

My friend and I are enjoying this book and study guide so much and want to encourage others to study them along with the Bible. Really gets to the heart of things within us. We want to help with Celebrate Recovery at a church near our homes. Thanks for having them available for sale.
